In 1984 Jim began his work with EMS and public safety while in college as a first responder, dispatcher, and a safety officer working for a public safety department.

Jim went on to obtain a BS degree from Ferris State in Industrial and Environmental Health Management with a focus on Loss Control and Safety.  After graduating, he has been helping companies with safety and risk management. While working for an insurance carrier, he headed up the carrier’s EMS program.

Jim’s approach is to understand company operations, management, and culture.  That knowledge provides focus to assist clients to build on their success through risk mitigation and transfer, establish procedures, train, and monitor for success.

Jim has worked with EMS firms to provide meaningful employee and fleet safety, claims and risk management solutions. Jim is a Certified Safety Professional and works with Canopy Insurance Group’s RiskConnect team to provide effective risk management to its’ clients.
